Hi all! Well we are all moved in to our new home. Now all that is left is to put up fence and stalls in the barn. (OH IS THAT ALL HAH!!!!) At least that’s what Mike keeps saying. We had a bad day today, we had to take my cat that I have had since 1991 in to the vet and have him put down. My little man was just not living the kind of life that I would call full. So we made the hard decision to take his pain away. I will always love him and will miss him very much. Goodbye my friend I love you L.K.
On a happier note our boys are getting really big and so full of energy. They are at a friends house right now and we don’t get to see them everyday so when we do see them it is fun to see the changes. Hopefully we will bring them home soon. Oh I almost forgot Iris got her AQHA papers so she is double registered now. She is really growing up and what a body she has I would put up some pictures but Mike says she is under wraps until we are ready to show her. So you will have to wait but heres a hint. (she is just WOW!!!) Also I am going to be taking some pictures of our barn as we get it going and will keep you updated of the progress we are making. So stay tuned for the excitement.
Talk to you soon!!!!!

Hi everyone sorry it has been so long since I have updated. Well where do I start, first of all we were blessed with two
wonderful baby boys one in February and one in April. Brutus and Squirt are growing like crazy and are they ever full of it. We also will be moving soon things did not work out at the place we are at so we are moving to a much nicer place.
I will update soon with pictures when we are settled in. We have decided to hold off on showing Iris until the fall she is
just being a horse now I think she is loving it. Oh how can I forget our new addition Brite Eyed Renegade wow what a
gorgeous mare she is and so sweet. We plan on breeding her next year to a world class stallion still to be decided. Her and Iris are becoming pasture buddies I love to watch them run they are so beautiful. So that is about it I will update when we are settled in our new home we have a lot of work to do building stalls and fencing in pastures. I would like to take just a minute to thank all of our wonderful friends who have helped us and stood by us in our time of need this last month. You all are our very dear friends and we could not of gotten through this without you. Thank you all of you. Mike and Amy Harman

Welcome to the new year everyone I hope you are all doing well. We have had a very nice Christmas and New Year here at the farm.
First we would like to introduce my Christmas present from my hubby her name is Katies Little Kiss be sure to check out her page
it has been up for awhile. I would like to thank Rick and Sandy Lindstrom for giving us the opportunity to own such a wonderful, well
bred mare. She is in foal to their quarter horse stud for a April baby. So due to our new babies coming we have decided to sell our 2 year old out of Impressive Angleto and by Special Attention. Boo as we call her is a tall muscular flashy filly that really needs to be shown or she would make a wonderful broodmare next year with her breeding. We just are not going to have time for her. So if anyone is interested in her let us know we would love for her to go to a loving home.

Well I don't know about anyone else but I am ready for spring. It has been so cold and we have had some snow and ice too. Not much happening here at the farm the girls get to go out and play in the snow some. Iris was just amazed at the white stuff on the ground she tried to jump right in to Mikes arms afraid it might bite her LOL. It has been really quiet this month we are just waiting for our foal to be born. All of us here at Harman's Painted Acres would like to wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and safe New Year. See you in 2008

Well show season is over for us now. Now we begin the long wait until April when it starts all over again.
The show in Gordyville was just huge there were some really nice babies there. I still can not believe that our little Iris took reserve Champion in the late weanling fillies futurity class, with stitches in her head and all. (She had a little trailer accident that is the reason we did not make Southern Indiana) I would like to give congrats to all of our friends that did well at the show too. Dave and Pat Breitberg's filly, Miss DC Doll, also out of DC Precision, took Champion in the late weanlings fillies. Chuck and Connie Alexander's yearling filly out of their stud, took Champion in the IBOS yearling fillies class. Also I would like to thank Chuck and Connie and also Dayna Smart for helping us to haul Iris to the show. We would not of gotten there without you. We were stalled with Vicki and Mark Livasy and she helped us alot with getting Iris ready. Also we would like to thank Rick Mclain for showing our little filly for us you did a great job. Well I guess the next big thing happening at Harman Paints will be the birth of Angels baby, so I will keep you informed of the happenings. Talk to you soon.

What happened to the warm weather!!! I am not ready for this BURRRRRR!!!!!! Well to start I would like to thank Towerview Farms of Macon, MO for the purchase of our Cricket, good luck with her. Be sure to check out the sales page we put up some new pictures of the stud (now a gelding) that our broodmare is in foal to. He won the Halter classes at the Williamsfield Wranglers Club show this weekend. Iris is growing like a weed and eating really well we are so excited about the shows at the end of the month. If she keeps growing like she is she should do well. Well I will probably not update until after the show on the 22nd so wish us luck and see you soon.

First I would like to congratulate our friends the Breitbergs on thier win in Wisconsin with Miss DC Doll great job you guys. We are busy working with Iris getting ready for her show in S. Indiana in September. We are thinking about taking her to some of the small shows in town just to get her out and get her used to Mike but we have not made up our minds yet. The girls, Boo and Cricket, have been put on the back burner for now they are living the good life while Iris does all the work LOL!!! If anyone knows of someone looking for a good halter horse with excellent bloodlines please send them our way, we need to move Cricket before winter, we would even work with a good show home. We will see you soon I will update after the show wish us luck!!!

Well now that you have seen our big surprise I thought you might like to know how it came to be. My wonderful husband was sneaking around behind my back talking to Vicki Livasy from Double L Acres for about a week before I even knew anything. He knew I was looking for a filly for next year and he was bound and determined to find me a real butt kicker. Now you have to know that my husband has loved DC Precision since we first started in Paint horses. So when we got down to Decatur it was like meeting Super Man to him this horse was just massive but just absolutely beautiful. Vicki and her husband Mark are the most down to earth people that we have ever met and what a wonderful place they have it is a horse persons paradise. Well the minute we saw Iris it was all over we had to have her and the rest you know. I still can not believe she is ours and we actually own a DC baby. Thank you Vicki and Mark for making our dreams come true. Vicki is going to show her in the Indiana Futurity on August 18th and then we are going to get her on the 19th. We can not wait to get her home. Isn't my husband just the best to get me such a wonderful surprise I couldn't ask for anything better. Be sure to check the Sale barn page Cricket is for sale and so is our broodmare we only have so many stalls and too many horses. Talk to you soon.

Mike and I took the girls to the Knox County fair show on Saturday the 4th and we brought home money again I love that. Cricket took 2nd in all three classes and Boo took 3rd in all three. Also our friends the Howertons did really well this weekend in Minnesota but I will let him tell you in his own words. "Joann & Curtis got it done. 3 am points 16 youth points and a Circuit Championship. Curtis hit a grand slam with 4 1st and 2 2nd. He was also Circuit Champion youth mare. We went up just hoping to finish the ROMs and boy did they. Miss TD has ROMs in youth, am & open. So I hear that Curtis is going to be taking drop leads at the gate next year.
Also Dayna Smart of Smart Halter horse took a Reserve grand at Peoria Paint show this weekend with a filly out of our friends Connie and Chuck Alexanders stud Securely a Mister.
It was a great weekend all around. Also be sure to check back often because something BIG is going to happen here at Harman's Painted Acres so stay tuned (And I mean BIGGGG!!!)

We had a great time camping with our friends the Howertons. We took a second place under one judge and a third under the other. Rick and Joann Howertons filly Miss TD Kid took Grand and our other friends the Breitbergs filly Daisys Pretty Decisive took reserve. Congrats to all for your hard work. The Paint show was a soaker it rained all weekend thank goodness we where in the main barn at Sterling
and we did not have to walk in the rain. We took a 4th and a 5th this weekend. There where not alot of people there this weekend since the youth world was this weekend.
June 18, 2007
We took the girls to the Galesburg Boots and Saddle Club show on Sunday. It was sooo HOT but it was
worth it. Cricket took two first places in open color breed halter and also open western halter. Boo got two
4th places not too bad for only one week of hard work imagine what 60 days will do. Be sure to check out the pictures on the girls pages of the show on Sunday. Our next show is on Saturday in Sterling. Wish us luck.
June 12, 2007
We took the girls to some shows finally and we found out we have alot of work to do. First we took both girls to the Illinois State Stock Horse show. I showed Boo and Mike showed Cricket. Mike took 4th in yearling class, 5th in the color breed, and 5th in the open halter. Boo did not even get looked at (I know her neck needs work but I love her anyway) Then we took Cricket to the APHA show in Sterling, IL on June 9th. Under 2 judges she took 7th under both judges. Wow what a deep class it was some really nice fillies. I would also like to congratulate our friends Joanne and Rick Howerton on getting the ROM on their filly Eloquence in Color on Sunday. Way to go. In all it has been a eye opening experience. I think it is time for our girls to go to boot camp. LOL Or at least time for us to buckle down and get serious. Now that we are all moved we can concentrate on our girls. Our next show is June 23rd in Sterling again hopefully we will do better. Wish us luck. Talk to ya soon. PS I am working on updated pictures I will post as soon as possible.

Well we are in the process of moving and it looks like May is out for shows. Boo has hurt her leg she is not lame but it is a nasty cut
and in a very bad spot that can not be wrapped. So Boo will be put on hold until later this summer. Cricket on the other hand is doing
great eating like a horse Hee Heee!!! I am really itching to show but we just have not had time to work with our girls. The man who is renting the house to us has 3 horses too so our four legged family has grown to 5 WOW with one on the way of course. We now have 2 Paso Finos grey with black manes and tails, Devin and Baliador, and a palomino gelding named Oro I will try to get pictures soon. We are still moving things from Knoxville and I am having to update the website from work because finding INTERNET has been quite a job. Anyway be patient with me I will post pictures soon. And looks like June is the new show schedule. See you soon!!!!
April 30, 2007
More good news we have an opportunity of a life time to move to a wonderful 32 acre farm just south of Rio, IL so we are going to be moving we can't pass this up. I will post new pictures as soon as possible but I am sure we will be pretty busy and the worst part is this is going to put a crimp in our show schedule. Hopefully we will be able to make the May shows. (If Cricket would loose her hair that is!!!) LOL Anyway wish us luck!!!! See you soon.
